INTRODUCING TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI
TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI (TGJ) is an all girl jazz/funk groove band formed in
2018 in Tokyo by their producer Koichi Kaneko (Neko), comprising top
Japanese session musicians. The members are Emi Kanazashi
(keyboards/vocals), MiMi/Mayumi Kawakami
(drums/vocals), and Rina Hoshino (bass/vocals).
TGJ aims to be a powerful groove band that transcends generations, genders,and genres.
TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI（TGJ）は、2018年にプロデューサーの金子公一（Neko）
によって東京で結成された、女性3人で構成されたファンク/ソウル/ジャズ系の
グルーヴ・バンドです。
メンバーは金指恵美（キーボード／ボーカル）、川上真祐美（ドラム／ボーカ
ル）、星野李奈（ベース／ボーカル）
TGJは、世代・性別・人種・ジャンルを超えて楽しめるパワフルなグルーヴバ
ンドを目指しています。
History
Formed in 2018.
In February 2020, the band tour to New York City, performing at famous live
venues such as The Bitter End, Shrine, Sugar Bar, Groove, and Café Wha?.
During their stay, they also received an offer from the acclaimed producer Ray
Angry and performed together over several consecutive nights.
In October 2020, the band underwent a lineup change, welcoming
bassist Rina and drumer MiMi.
Although live performances were later restricted due to the COVID-19
pandemic, the band actively released live performance videos on YouTube,
helping TGJ’s fan base expand across the globe.

2018年結成
2020年2月ニューヨークへ武者修行のツアー実施。
The BitterEnd、Shrine、Sugar Bar、Groove、Café Wha? などの著名なライブハウスで
ライブを行いました。さらに著名プロデューサーのRay Angryからオファーを受け、
連夜のパフォーマンスを行いました。
2020年10月にメンバーチェンジ、ベース李奈、ドラムMiMiが加入。
その後コロナの影響でライブ活動は制限されましたが、YouTubeにて積極的に
ライブ映像を配信し、TGJのファンは世界中に広がりました。
2023
The band further expanded its international activities, performing at "Sound
Wave Festival" in Taiwan and at the Sentosa Music Festival in Singapore, “Jazz
by the Cove”
2024
In April, the band held its first Australian tour, performing in Perth, Melbourne,
and Sydney. Four of the seven shows sold out. Due to the strong reception,
they returned to Australia in November with an expanded tour that included
Adelaide and Brisbane.
In June, the band performed at MAXAN JAZZ in Las Vegas(US) and, following
its success, was invited back for another performance in December.
2025
TGJ welcomed the new year in Las Vegas and in March successfully completed
their third Australian tour, the “Sakura Down Under Tour,” consisting of eleven
shows.
In August, they performed at XIAMI MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL in China.
In September, the band conducted a tour of the U.S. West Coast, and in
October they appeared as part of the entertainment lineup for the F1 Singapore
Grand Prix.
Supported by a growing fan base around the world, TGJ continues to tour
internationally.
In June 2025, the band released their full-length album “WE ARE TGJ,” which
has received an enthusiastic response. In Japan, they also perform more than
20 headlining shows every year.
For the 2026 season, TGJ plans to focus primarily on activities in Japan while
distributing live performance videos worldwide through their YouTube channel.
A new album is also scheduled for release in June.
2023年 海外での活動も拡大し、台湾Sound Wave Festivalやシンガポールの
Sentosa Music Festival「Jazz by the Cove」に出演しました。
2024年4月にはオーストラリアで初ツアーを実施し、パース、メルボルン、シ
ドニーで行われた7公演のうち4公演がソールドアウトとなりました。
好評を受け、同年11月にアデレードとブリスベンを加え再びオーストラリアツアーを
開催。6月には米国ラスベガスMAXAN JAZZに出演、好評につき同年12月に再び
出演しました。
2025年シーズン、TGJは年始をラスベガスで迎え、3月に3度目のオーストラリア
ツアー「Sakura Down Under Tour」全11公演を成功させました。
8月に中国のフェス「XIAMI MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL」へ出演、
9月に米国西海岸ツアーを実施。10月にはF1シンガポールGPエンタテイメント
イベントに出演しました。
TGJは世界中で増え続けるファンに支えられながら、現在もグローバルにツアー
を続けています。
2025年6月にはフルアルバム「WE ARE TGJ」をリリースし大変好評です。
日本国内でも年間20本以上のワンマンライブを毎年展開しています。
2026年シーズンは国内を中心に活動しそのライブ映像をYouTubeチャンネルに
て世界配信します。
6月にはニューアルバムをリリース予定です。

TGJ has published more than 100 videos on YouTube, featuring both original
songs and cover performances. Their original track “Funk No.1” has surpassed
26 million views, while their cover of “What Is Hip” by Tower of Power has
reached over 4 million views.

KEYBOARDS/VOCALS/COMPOSER Emi Kanazashi
Emi Kanazashi was born in Shizuoka(May20),Japan, and began playing piano and electric organ at an early age. She graduated from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, majoring in electronic organ.
Rooted in funk, soul, and R&B, Emi is known for her deep groove, expressive touch, and dynamic stage presence. Based in Tokyo, she performs across a
wide range of genres including rock, pop, and J-pop, and is highly active as a support musician for various artists.
In 2017, she released her original single “RISM,” performing as a vocalist for a corporate tie-in project.
Since 2018, Emi has been a founding member of TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI,serving as both keyboardist and vocalist.
As a core member shaping the band’s sound, she composed “E Funk” for their latest album We are TGJ.
She has supported artists such as nanami, Isao Bito, Linda Yamamoto, and Loudness.
Influenced by artists like Cory Henry, Bob james、Tower of power、Stevie Wonder, and Alicia Keys, she continues to pursue a borderless musical style that blends groove, soul, and versatility.
金指恵美（かなざし えみ）
静岡県出身。5月20日生まれ
洗足学園音楽大学電子オルガン科卒業。
幼少期よりピアノとエレクトーンを始める。
ファンク、ソウル、R&Bを軸に、グルーヴ感のある演奏と表現力を大切にしている。
都内ライブハウスを中心にロック、ポップス、J-POPなど幅広いジャンルで活動。フルバンドでの演奏を得意とし、数多くのシンガーのサポートミュージシャンとしても精力的に活動している。
2017年には、自身がボーカルを務める企業タイアップのオリジナルシングル「RISM」をリリース。
2018年よりTOKYO GROOVE JYOSHIの結成メンバーとして、キーボード＆ボーカルを担当。
バンドのサウンドを支える中心的存在として活動し、最新アルバム『WE ARETGJ』では「E Funk」を作曲。
これまでに、山田七海、尾藤イサオ、山本リンダ、ラウドネスなどのサポートキーボーディストとしても参加。
また、Cory Henry、Bob James、Tower of power、 Stevie Wonder、Alicia Keys
らに影響を受け、ジャンルにとらわれないボーダレスな音楽性を追求している
BASS/VOCALS/COMPOSER Rina Hoshino
Born in Saitama, Japan – July 11
Studied bass under Hojin Egawa of Bakufu Slump, and jazz fusion under guitarist Koichi Ya bori.
Started playing the clarinet in junior high school, developed an interest in composition, began playing guitar in high school, and took up bass in university.
Formed the all-female band Elfriede in 2017 and made a major debut.
Joined the band TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI in 2020, touring and performing live worldwide. In addition to band activities, also supports various artists including voice actors and idols.
Besides bass performance activities, is also involved in producing girls' bands and idol groups.
Selected as a tour band member for Maki Ohguro in 2025.
星野李奈（ほしの りな)
埼玉県出身。7月11日生まれ
ベースを爆風スランプの江川ほーじんに、jazzフュージョンをgt.矢堀孝一に師事する。
中学からクラリネットを始め、作曲に興味を持ち、高校でギター、大学でベースを始める。
2017年よりガールズバンド『エルフリーデ』を結成しメジャーデビューする。
2020年に加入したバンド『TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI』では世界中でツアーを行いライブ行う。
バンド活動の他にも声優、アイドルなど様々なアーティストのサポートを行う。
ベース演奏活動のほかにガールズバンドやアイドルグループのプロデュース業にも携わる。
2025年大黒摩季のツアーバンドメンバーに選ばれる。

MiMi / Mayumi Kawakami
Drums / Vocal
Born in Ishikawa, Japan – September 30
MiMi is a dynamic entertainer who sings while playing drums.
Based in Tokyo, she is also active internationally. While performing with TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI (since 2020), she writes, composes, and arranges her own music, and has self-produced three albums.
She studied under renowned drummers Kozo Suganuma, Masayuki Muraishi, Nobuo Eguchi, Takashi Saito, and Kazuya Kunori.
She began singing enka in the second grade of elementary school and later appeared in the NHK Nodo Jiman Grand Champion competition. While attending Showa University of Music (Jazz & Popular Music Course, majoring in drums), she won the Grand Championship at the King Records Kayō Competition National Finals and received First Prize at the Asia Percussion Festival.
She has performed as a member of “Tokyo Brass Style,” and participated in recording and touring for the album BLIND LOVE by Yoko Hamasaki, produced by Toshiki Kadomatsu. She also appeared as a drummer in the musical Tokyo Boys & Girls, directed musically by Toshiki Kadomatsu and staged by Kota Otsuka, featuring dance, singing, and live performance.
In addition, she actively supports and records with numerous artists across a wide range of projects.
MiMi/川上真裕美（カワカミ マユミ）

石川県出身。 9月30日生
叩いて歌うエンターテイナーMiMi
東京を拠点に、海外でも活躍中。
TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHIに所属(2020年)しながら、自身で作詞・作曲・アレンジし３作のアルバムをセルフプロデュース。
ドラマー菅沼孝三氏・村石雅行氏・江口信夫氏・齋藤たかし氏・九里一也氏に師事
小学２年生から演歌を始め、NHKのど自慢グランドチャンピオンに出場。
昭和音楽大学（ジャズポピュラーコースのドラム専攻）在学中にキングレコード歌謡選手権全国大会にてグランドチャンピオン、アジア打楽器フェスティバルにて一等賞受賞
『東京ブラススタイル』メンバー、角松敏生プロデュース 浜崎容子のアルバル「BLIND LOVE」にてレコーディング、ツアーに参加した。
角松敏生音楽監督・大塚幸太演出のダンス・歌唱・演奏の三本立てのミュージカル「東京少年少女」にもドラマーとして参加。
その他多くのアーティストのサポートやレコーディングに精力的に参加している。
